Abandoned Vehicles

Parking continues to be one of our largest problems in Hilltop Green. We need to work together to get the abandoned vehicles removed from our streets.

Why are abandoned vehicles a problem?
Abandoned vehicles take up parking spaces that need to be available to our homeowners.
Abandoned vehicles that are not maintained are unattractive and bring down the value of our homes.
Abandoned vehicles are an invitation to criminal activity

How to remove them
The more of us that report abandoned vehicles the more likely we are to get a response from the city. We need your help calling the hotline and reporting the vehicles on the abandoned vehicle reporting website.
  • Log onto the City of Richmond website at www.ci.richmond.ca.us and click the COR Connect link. Direct your complaint to Police Services. This will give you access to the abandoned vehicle reporting site. You will need to describe the abandoned vehicle (including the license plate number if possible) and the location of the parked vehicle. If you wish, you can create your own account with COR Connect and you will be contacted with information about how your complaint was resolved. You will be asked to log into the system, but if you wish to remain anonymous, you can either log on anonymously or simply click on the "Send message only" button.

  •  Call the abandoned vehicle hotline at (510) 620-6644 and leave a message for our Code Enforcement staff who will arrange to have the vehicle "red tagged" and then towed.

  • Contact the police dispatch center at (510) 233-1214 and provide the information to a dispatcher. This information will be sent to the District Commander who will arrange for the car to be "red tagged" and then towed.
